Abandoned Cart

Template designed to reengage users who abandoned their shopping before completion.

The Abandoned Cart process template provides businesses with an effective foundation to re-engage customers and recover missed sales opportunities. By offering API-based access to all open carts associated with a user, it enables targeted, data-driven engagement strategies. Processes built on this template facilitate timely and automated follow-ups based on actual customer behavior, improving conversion rates across both B2B and B2C channels. This capability not only supports shopping continuity but also enhances personalized experiences that strengthen customer relationships and streamline operational efforts.

The template includes core API-driven capabilities prepared for integration and automation. The extended cart API supports retrieval of all open carts associated with a given customer ID, enabling full visibility. Each returned cart object includes structured data such as line items, pricing, and cart metadata to support personalization and decision logic.

Shopping continuity

Customers can pick up where they left off, improving the overall shopping experience.

Personalized offers

Automated, relevant messages can be sent based on cart contents or customer information.

Transparency

Customers can see all their open carts and decide whether to resume or discard them.

Process automation

Reduces manual effort through standardized workflows and orchestration engine integration.

Process template flow

When a logged-in user adds items to their cart but exits before completing the checkout, the system stores the cart as "open" and links it to the user's profile across sessions. The orchestration engine then identifies these open carts and triggers automated follow-up actions, such as reminder emails or promotional offers. The actions are based on configurable criteria like cart age, value, or contents. When the customer returns and logs in, their open carts are visible for continuation. Once the purchase is completed, the cart can be marked and tracked as part of the abandoned cart recovery process, enabling performance measurement and optimization.

Process trigger

The process trigger can be configured to start at any defined interval. You can choose to run it for example every hour, day, week, or even set up a custom configuration based on your needs.

Fetching cart information

Select the types of carts the process should run for. The carts are grouped and filtered based on modifications within a specific time frame.

Reminder emails

Use this process step to automate sending emails that remind customers about their incomplete shopping carts.

Promotional discounts

Personalize the shopping experience by offering customers discounts tailored specifically for them, providing extra motivation to complete their purchase.
